Missions

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 28:19

A look back

Active Missionaries

We have a great team of committed missionaries, serving in various places around the world. We'd love for you to meet them so you can pray better for them!

Scott & Noel Hardaway:Papua New Guinea

Scott & Noel serve at missionaries in Papua New Guinea.
After graduating from Asbury Theological Seminary (KY), Scott served as a pastor for 12 years in Michigan. He stepped down from that role after the loss of his first wife to cancer in 2012. Noel earned her degree in Bible and Elementary Education. She served as a missionary in Senegal, Africa from 2006 to 2010.

Gene Mattox:Papua New Guinea

Gene serves as a full-time volunteer missionary in Papua New Guinea.
God has called Gene to be a teacher at the Christian Union Bible College (CUBC) in Mount Hagen, Papua New Guinea. CUBC trains national pastors from all regions of the Western and Central Highlands in Papua New Guinea.

Doug & Becky Darfus:American Indian Field

We minister to Native families on the American Indian Field, discipling youth and adults across the Southwestern U.S. We were married in 1998, and although I (Becky) had always had a heart for missions, Doug had no desire to even go on a missions trip. In a morning church service in 2004, God used a work team’s presentation to speak to Doug. Immediately following the service, Doug signed us both up for an 18-day missions trip to Kenya. I was working in the nursery that morning and was unaware of God’s movement on Doug’s heart until he shared with me, “We’re going to Africa!”

Steve & Debbie Cartwright:American Indian Field

Our main ministries focus in the areas of encouragement and training Native Christians.
We pastor the Siloam Church, on the Gila River Indian Reservation south of Phoenix, AZ. There we are also involved in youth and children's ministries as well as adult discipleship. Besides the Victory Guitar Outreach program, which has reached many in our area with the message of Christ as well as guitar learning, we are currently heavily involved with a new ministry called SOAR - Servant Overcomer Addiction Recovery. Steve leads the SOAR meeting every Friday evening, which is reaching people even beyond the Siloam church who deal with issues holding them back from being all God has called them to be.

Michael & Donna Brown:Bolivia

From the beginning of our service to the Lord as missionaries, we discovered it to be full of many opportunities to share God's love! We are so thankful for the privilege of sharing Christ's love in a needy part of our world called Bolivia.

David and Debbie Hawk:The Americas Region

David and Debbie serve as Regional Directors for The Americas Region. As Regional Directors, they oversee missionaries and ministries in the Caribbean, Central and North America, and Mexico.
They served previously as Country Directors in Honduras. Prior to serving as Country Directors, they served in El Salvador, where they planted a church in Jucuapa with the help of Honduran missionaries, and built a medical clinic.

Terry & Colleen Hawk:The Americas Region

Terry and Colleen were privileged to be part of WGM's great ministry at Escuela El Sembrador Donald Hawk (School of the Sower) for several years. They have seen hundreds of boys and young men go through the school's primary, secondary, vocational, and Bible Institute education programs.

Terry and Colleen currently serve as Assistant Regional Director for WGM's ministries in The Americas Region.

Tim & Aleyda Spetnagel:Honduras

After Tim’s second mission trip to Honduras, God confirmed to him that being a missionary was His plan for his life. He is excited to serve the Lord with his wife, Aleyda, in San Pedro Sula in youth and children’s ministries.

Benji and Erica Jenkins:Papua New Guinea

Benji serves as the director of the Bible School in Mt. Hagen, preparing church leaders for ministry in the Highlands of PNG.
Erica ministers to women in their community.

Butch and Leatha Jenkins:Special Assignment

Butch and Leatha spent ten years as missionaries in PNG before the Lord led them to return to the States.
They traveled with mission teams to multiple fields before God called them back to PNG to work alongside the national church. Butch and Leatha now serve at Project Coordinators and Construction Consultants, overseeing projects around the world.

Seth & Veronica Porter:Papua New Guinea

Seth & Veronica Porter serve in Papua New Guinea.
Seth works closely with the churches and pastors and teaches vocational skills to young men.
Veronica home-schools their children and is involved with the church’s women’s ministry.

Shawn & Bethany Waugh:Papua New Guinea

God called Shawn and Bethany to be cross-cultural missionaries in a land filled with beliefs in many gods and cultural ties so strong that deepening the people’s faith can be difficult.
They work at the Christian Union Bible College in Mt. Hagen. God has called them to PNG to help fill the great need for teachers to train national pastors in the Bible so they will be well-equipped to evangelizes and disciple their own people.

Weadette Burge:Paraguay

Weadette’s ministries in Paraguay are very diverse. She has served as the field treasurer and the coordinator of Christian Education. She has also taught Christian Education as a course in the Wesley Bible Institute.

Mark & Bev Donahue:Paraguay

Mark and Susana Bev are involved in a mentoring and discipleship ministry among national believers in Paraguay. It is their prayer that lives will be changed as people seek the Lord. Mark has also worked as the field office coordinator and guesthouse host, the national church treasurer and a keyboardist. Bev’s responsibilities have included guesthouse hostess, board member and board secretary for Asuncion Christian Academy and as a music arranger and vocal coach.

John & Priscilla Kunkle:Texas/Mexico Border

A desperate need in Texas for teachers and other workers at Taylor Christian School prompted John and Priscilla to offer their services there after previously serving in Bolivia with the Wings of Peace ministry.
They reach out to the local Hispanic community through Christian education and community service..

Greg & Teresa Leeth:Pastors to Missionaries

Greg and Teresa Leeth serve as Pastors to Missionaries.  Previously, Greg and Teresa served as missionaries with The Churches of Christ in Christian Union on the Texas/Mexico Border in Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, for eight years as primary school educators, church planters, and field directors.
